It's never too late to
begin learning. Adult Education has been going through the Book of
Braishit, Genesis, and reading the text closely, to see what is in it and
what is midrash, and what we Jews have drawn out from the text - ethics,
morals and how the narratives "work". Our adult education begins at
1:00 pm on Shabbat (Saturday).
We have begun our "First
Monday of the Month" study group. This group looks at the way our
siddur, prayer book, is laid out and why prayers are in the order tat they
are in. We have been studying the meaning of the prayers and their
importance. Please join us and bring your topic suggestions to be
studied.
We also have 3 levels of
Hebrew classes:
 | Beginners Hebrew -
Mondays at 5:30 pm. No knowledge of Hebrew is assumed. |
 | Intermediate Hebrew -
Tuesdays at 5:30 pm. Knowledge of the alef-bet is assumed.
We study from Mishkan Tfilla. |
 | Advanced Hebrew -
Thursdays at 5:30 pm. Ability to read and to understand some
Hebrew is required. We study from the Tanach. |
If none of these times
works for you, and you wish to learn Hebrew, at whatever level, please
contact the Rabbi.
We also have special programs and guest speakers at
the Temple made possible in part by funding through the Bronstein
Foundation. Information about such programs are found in the Event Calendar.
If you are
interested in participating in Adult Education or would like to have a
specific topic brought up in Adult Education, you may call Rabbi
Bar-Yaacov.
